There was pandemonium near a textile market in the Kano Metropolis when a man was stabbed in the neck by suspected hoodlums. He was stabbed as they struggled to snatch his phone. Eyewitnesses including the hoodlums fled the scene abandoning the victim.
A good Samaritan was said to have reported the incident at the nearest police station and the officers rushed to the scene to take the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The family of the 50- year-end old man said he was declared missing on Sunday after they noticed that he had not returned from work. A search party was raised and he was traced to the hospital’s morgue.
The Kano Police Command Spokesman DSP Haruna Abdullahi confirmed the unfortunate incident to newsmen and vowed that the Command would not rest until the perpetrators are brought to book.
