The Chairman, Executives and entire members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) offer our deepest sympathy to the family of Hon. Justice Jude Okeke, over the passing oftheir father, husband and brother; who passed away on the 4th ofAugust, 2020. He was aged 64 before his demise and hailed from Idemili (North) Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Hon. Justice Jude Okeke was an extraordinary man. He touched the nearest community to him with so much force, the pain is felt even in his absence. He touched his family. He touched the Judiciary. He touched Justice delivery system in Nigeria. He touched the Nigerian Bar.
To face death is an inevitable phase for every human. But for a man who has backed up sufficient legacies in our memories, death is only a testimony of his sacrifice and a life well lived.
Hon. Justice Jude Okeke touched the Legal Profession, particularly the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja (Unity Bar), as he was the Chairman of the Branch and was into active private legal practice before he was appointed as a Judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in the year 2007. He served the Branch wholeheartedly and with utmost dedication and patriotism. He worked tirelessly and was a good friend and brother to all. Many ofus at the Bar will mourn his passing deeply as his was a life of service, love, compassion and excellence. For the services rendered for
the growth and continuous strength of the Nigerian Bar, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Bar’s progress.
Grief can be very hard, but the beautiful memories of our beloved help us cope. We are indeed saddened by this irreparable loss and pray, especially for the entire family, the members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja (Unity Bar) and the entire Judiciary at this very difficult period of grief, that may the good Lord comfort us and grant us grace and the strength to bear this loss and remain steadfast.
To the Family he left behind, the entire members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja (Unity Bar) stand with you and may your many memories of your beloved father, husband and brother help sustain you at this most difficult time.
