Following the success of the opening ceremony of the 2021 NBA Unity Bar Law Week, all participants are kindly invited to attend the Second day of the event.
The Publicity Secretary of the branch, Mr Ikemefuna Onyeka in a statement made available to Lex Community NG, says that the morning and afternoon sessions are free for all participants.
The topic for the morning plenary session in the is “Understanding the Tax Obligation of Legal Practitioners”. The session would be chaired by the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Welfare Committee, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, S.A.N. with the under-listed as speakers and panelists:
- Mary Okpe (FIRS)
- Dayo Adedeji Esq. (Private Legal Practitioner)
- Dr Kennedy Iwundu (Tax Consultant)
- Ruth Zikachat Kaburuk-Badung (NIPOST)

There will be an official opening of the NBA Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) office at Flat 2, Block 12, FCDA Quarters, Kashim Ibrahim Way, off Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja led by the branch chairman, Dr Hauwa Shekarau.
The Chairman of the Law Week Planning Committee, Mr Steve Emelieze, has also stated that there will be a Dinner to wrap up the week’s events. He further said that the dinner night will also be a Cultural Night. Members of the Branch are expected to appear colourfully dressed in their native attire and come fully prepared for a time of music, comedy, good food, wine and dance.
