Hon. Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem was yesterday, sworn in as the President of the Court of Appeal having served as the acting president for three months.
President Muhammadu Buhari recently submitted her name to the Senate for approval and she was cleared accordingly, last week.
She was sworn in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, who advised Justice Dongban-Mensem to live up to expectations by maintaining a cordial relationship with her colleagues on the court of appeal bench.
The swearing-in ceremony was graced by Simon Lalong, the Governor of Plateau State – where Mrs Dongban-Mensem hails from, Aminu Tambuwal, the Sokoto State Governor, Pauline Tallen, Minister of Women Affairs, Hauwa Shekarau, Chairman NBA Abuja Branch, Honorable Justices, Senior Advocates of Nigeria and a host of other dignitaries.
There was an outdoor reception afterwards at the Court of Appeal.
