Senior Advocate of Nigeria Jibrin Okutepa has called on lawyers of the Nigerian Bar Association Unity Branch and other lawyers outside the branch to desist from unprofessional conduct to avoid the highly revered legal profession being dragged to the mud.
Okutepa made the call at the monthly general meeting of the Unity Branch which he hosted on Friday.
According to the learned Silk “the legal profession is a profession of nobility, I will charge the Branch and all of us that we must stick to our pride as legal practitioners”
“There is no lawyer that can be bought because your price is unquantifiable”
The learned silk said.
“If you as a voter/lawyer you begin to make some moves that suggests that you utilitaral value is very low, then you are likely to get merchants who have low esteem of you and pick you up even with a bag of indomie”
On the forthcoming branch election, the learned Silk drew the attention of the branch members of previous election marred by avoidable crisis.
In his words “I hope we will be wiser this time in this coming election”
Okutepa was applauded for hosting the May edition of the branch’s general meeting.
