The Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) of the Nigerian Bar Association has issued a public disclaimer on Folarinwa Aluko and Ebuka Nweze who for the last two years have paraded themselves as Chairman and Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association Abuja Branch (Unity Bar).
The notice made available to Lex Community NG states as follows:
To whom it may concern
The General public is by this publication put on notice that the duo of Atsen Bulus and Eric Ibe who have held out themselves as Chairman and Secretary respectively are impostors and not recognized and validly elected as Chairman and Secretary of Nigerian Bar Association Abuja Branch (Unity Bar).
The said duo have been parading themselves as the newly elected Chairman and Secretary of NBA Abuja BAr (Unity Bar) following a purported election conducted by the duo of Folarin Aluko and Nweze Ebuka who had in the last two years been parading themselves as Chairman and Secretary of the branch on an interim order of the High Court of the FCT made in favor of one Ezenwa Anumnu which substantive suit is still pending and the said Exparte Order had since elapsed having outlived its life span of 14 days.
The general public is to note by this publication that the High Court of the FCT has by a ruling in Suit number FCT/CV/HC/954/2019 instituted by the said duo of Folarin Aluko and Ebuka Nweze against the duly elected Executives of the branch, held that the purported interim order is one in personam and not in rem and does not extend to the duo of Folarin Aluko and Ebuka Nweze and by extension Atsen Bulus and Eric Ibe.
Pursuant to same, the branch hereby issues this disclaimer and further advises that anyone dealing with the duo of Atsen Bulus and Eric Ibe does so at its own risk. Government agencies, ministries, departments, civil societies and NGOs should take note.
For avoidance of doubt the only recognized and legitimate chairman and secretary of the NBA Abuja are;
