The Nigerian Bar Association Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) held its first physical meeting since the inauguration of its EXCO in June 2020, which was a hybrid meeting to capture members not physically disposed to attend. The meeting is also the last meeting for the year.
The branch had moved it’s meeting to a virtual platform due to the Coronavirus which made it impossible to hold physical meetings.
There was a massive turn out of members of the branch who were happy to be back to attending physical meetings which affords them the opportunity to bond and network with colleagues.
The Chairman, Dr. Hauwa Shekarau in her opening address welcomed members to the last monthly meeting for the year despite that the year had been challenging globally. She added that after this meeting and the swearing in of some of the branch’s members as Senior advocates of Nigeria on Monday the 14th of December, the branch will be closing its activities officially for 2020.
The Branch also launched its first edition of its magazine “The Unity Voice” which was put put together by the editorial committee. The Chairman of the committee, Ozioma Izuora siad that the first edition is a special edition and that the next edition will focus more on the activities of the various committees of the branch.
