NBA Election 2020: Who Is Your Candidate?- Precious Toju Speaks

The Nigeria Bar Association will be conducting its elections in the coming months and there are numerous candidates vying for various positions.

Precious Toju, a Lagos-based legal practitioner and head of litigation at Hughes Partners, has taken to her Facebook account to advise lawyers on choosing their candidate for the upcoming NBA elections.

The post reads as follows:

“I’ve been asked by fellow comrades of my choice candidates for the forthcoming NBA Elections (National & Branch)……. I will disclose them in “no time”

But, I just want to admonish us great Legal minds, that we should shun sentiments, tribalism and hypocrisy during the forthcoming elections and ensure that we choose the BEST man for the job this time around.

Remember, that if we don’t, we will all suffer the consequences and keep running the circles, again and again, year in, year out.

I've been asked by fellow comrades of my choice candidates for the forthcoming NBA Elections (National & Branch)……….

Pick your chosen candidate consciously and conscientiously.

Don’t let anyone dazzle you with last minute campaign “Sweet talks”

Choose someone that you’ve known over the years, read their profiles, get acquainted with their achievements that has undoubtedly affected the legal profession positively.

Do integrity and disciplinary checks

Find out more about them, beyond what you read online and on scripts, inquire more from those that have worked directly with them, especially their former employees.

You owe it to yourself, to us all, to the Legal Profession both locally and internationally, to the Nigeria Bar Association and this great country (Nigeria) as a whole.
